McLaren 720S
New cars sports, As is the case with many other exotic automobiles, the 2022 McLaren 720S combines a great deal of showmanship with very impressive performance. The kind of thrills that will send serious drivers into ecstasy include explosive launches and ethereal agility, among other luxuries. McLaren’s dream machine is made almost entirely of carbon fiber and is powered by a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 710 horsepower. The engine has a significant amount of turbo lag, but the momentary pause that follows the heavy foot on the accelerator gives the heart time to get ready for a 5.2-second dash to 100 miles per hour and a top speed of 212 miles per hour.
The McLaren 720S coupe and Spider (read: convertible) offer a ride that is surprisingly relaxing even when the driver isn’t attempting to live out their dreams of competing in Formula 1. The only thing that can really be considered a nuisance is attempting to ascend out of its compact yet versatile interior. Yes, the price of the 2022 720S is exorbitantly high, but in exchange for that money, you get a vehicle that is exorbitantly distinctive.
Maserati MC20
Maserati has been teasing us with its new MC20 mid-engine sports car for quite some time. We finally had the opportunity to test drive it and experience its unusual 621-horsepower twin-turbo V-6. The MC20 is currently offered as a two-seater coupe with a barebones interior that places the emphasis on the driver.
A convertible version of the MC20 is planned to be added to the lineup at a later date, and an electric version of the MC20 will be on the market at some point in the not too distant future. In collaboration with Dallara, a technical company specializing in motorsports, a carbon-fiber main frame and aluminum subframes were developed for the vehicle’s suspension and powertrain. Because of the way in which it was designed, the MC20 is able to achieve exceptional levels of performance.
Ferrari F8
The Ferrari F8 Tributo and Spider, both of which will debut in 2022, represent the absolute pinnacle of the supercar class. Both of them have jaw-dropping good looks, the most potent V-8 engine that Ferrari has ever produced, and handling that makes driving a car feel more like putting on a superhero costume than operating a vehicle. Even though Ferrari has developed V-8s that sound better than the F8’s twin-turbo 3.9-liter, the 710 horsepower that the F8 sends to the rear tires makes for exhilarating takeoffs and the sensation of soaring low to the ground.
In spite of the fact that drivers have the option of selecting either the hardtop Tributo or the convertible Spider, they will be required to test the limits of the car due to its massive power, rock-solid chassis, and neck-straining cornering grip. Its tremendous performance and supercar lineage are made even more impressive by the fact that the 2022 Ferrari F8 offers the same level of comfort and smoothness as alternatives designed for city driving, such as the Porsche 911 Turbo and the McLaren GT.
Porsche 911 GT3
The naturally aspirated engine and race car-inspired components of the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 were designed with the goal of maximizing the driver’s sense of involvement and performance on the racetrack. The 911 model with the most raw driving experience is equipped with a control-arm front suspension, which is a first for a 911 road car, as well as a distinctive rear wing that is mounted on the top rather than the bottom of the car. The responsiveness and deep sound of the GT3’s 502-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-six engine are invigorating.
The GT3 is also the only 911 with an engine that does not have a turbocharger. The rear-mounted mill is a one-of-a-kind piece of machinery thanks to its intuitive seven-speed PDK automatic transmission or its satisfying six-speed manual transmission. The 2022 Porsche GT3 has a ride that is surprisingly supple, despite being strong, and it has a great steering feel. These characteristics are just two of the reasons why it is so thrilling to drive. These characteristics are made possible by a unique suspension configuration and tire selections that are focused on the track.
Porsche 911
The 2022 Porsche 911 is an unquestionable Editors’ Choice winner due to its near-perfect design, sublime driving characteristics, and fantastic twin-turbo flat-six engines. It is a sports car that comes close to being perfect. The classic two-plus-two-seater that Porsche produces is both immersive and adaptable, despite the fact that it is out of reach for the majority of enthusiasts. The lineup consists of vehicles that either have a dual-clutch automatic transmission with quick shifts or a manual transmission, and they either have rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The latter makes certain that its remarkable performance can be appreciated throughout the entire year.
The 911 is offered with three different body styles: the coupe, the cabriolet (read: convertible), and the Targa. The charm of the Porsche 911 is that its agility does not compromise its usability in any way. The ride is surprisingly enjoyable, especially considering its lack of cornering ability and its steering feel similar to that of a race car. It has a roomy front interior that provides ample opportunity for opulent embellishment. In addition to having an excellent field of view, its driver is afforded the luxury of a comfortable low seating position.
Chevrolet Corvette
After waiting for the mid-engine version of the Corvette for many years, the pressure was on for Chevrolet to deliver a product that would become an icon of the modern era. We are pleased to inform you that the status of the automobile of the C8 generation has been maintained, and in fact, it has been improved, as the C8 generation enters its second model year.
This year’s 10Best award goes to the Chevrolet Corvette because of its outstanding performance, powerful V-8 engine with 480 horsepower, and affordable base price. The interior of the two-seater coupe and convertible versions of the Corvette is spacious and offers plenty of headroom and legroom for full-grown adults. In addition to its incredible horsepower, the Chevrolet engineers made the ride comfortable enough for daily commuting and cross-country road trips, while still being ready for the track with the Z51 package. Despite the limited amount of cargo space, golf equipment can be stored in the back, and the trunk (also called a trunk) in the front of the vehicle has a deep well that can easily fit a carry-on suitcase.
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
Imagine a mobile amusement park when you ride in the 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Its enormous grip can either induce feelings of ecstasy or nausea, or both, depending on the individual. Its 760-horsepower supercharged V-8 propels the coupe forward with incredible power. While the exhilarating exhaust note provides the soundtrack, the quick-shifting automatic transmission in the rear-drive-only coupe takes care of the gearchanges. The Shelby GT500 is not only the most powerful Mustang that Ford has ever produced; it is also the most powerful road car that the company has ever manufactured.
It was also included on the list of Editor’s Choice items that we compiled for 2022. Because it is, at its core, a Mustang, it is also used as a daily driver, despite the fact that it can, on demand, cause people’s underwear to become stained. Even though it costs about a fifth of what the Shelby’s base price is, adding the Carbon Fiber Track Pack to the GT500 makes the vehicle’s performance significantly better. Some owners would rather spend that money on feeding this thirsty beast or on paying the expected influx of speeding tickets. Some owners would rather spend that money on feeding this thirsty beast.
Chevrolet camaro ZL1
Although it’s not the most powerful muscle car on the market, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 sets a new standard for driver engagement and offers incredible bang for the buck. It is also included on the list of Editor’s Choices that we have compiled for 2022. The bow-tie boys squeeze a 650-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine in between the fenders of the ZL1 and offer a silky smooth manual transmission as well as a quick 10-speed automatic transmission. The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a V-8 engine that produces 760 horsepower and has excellent performance on the track; however, it is not available with a manual transmission or a convertible body type.
In addition, the price tag for unlocking the full potential of the Shelby is significantly higher than that of the Camaro’s game-changing 1LE package. Although a ZL1 1LE has the hardware and tuning to destroy some six-figure vehicles on a racetrack, its ride is so rough that anyone who isn’t used to being in pain should avoid driving it. Both the exterior and the interior visibility of the ZL1 are impaired, as is the case with every Camaro, and the materials used inside are not appealing. In spite of this, the 2022 Camaro ZL1 makes its driver feel like a king and dominates its most formidable rivals. It is the undisputed king of the hill.
Toyota Supra
The Toyota Supra 2022 is still one of our favorite sports cars, despite the fact that we have become more familiar with the model since it made its comeback to the Toyota lineup after a lengthy absence. It has even made it onto the list of Editor’s Choice items for 2022. Despite the fact that the BMW Z4 convertible and the Toyota Supra coupe were both conceived of and built at the same time, the Supra coupe has a character all its own, despite the fact that the powertrains in the two vehicles are identical.
There are two turbocharged engines available, the standard one is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower, and the optional one is a 3.0-liter inline-six with 382-horsepower. Both engines are connected to a responsive automatic transmission that has eight gears and feeds power to the rear wheels. The Toyota’s interior is surprisingly plush despite its compact size because BMW components were used in its design. The Toyota Supra 2022 also comes packed with a variety of different entertainment and safety technologies.
Subaru BRZ
The Subaru BRZ 2022 will continue to be a genuine sports car that is accessible to all drivers, with an emphasis placed on low cost and lightweight agility rather than high horsepower and expensive exclusivity. In a lineup that is primarily comprised of vehicles with all-wheel drive, Subaru’s recently redesigned and remanufactured coupe stands out as an exception. The Toyota 86, which is mechanically identical to it, will be doomed in the same way.
One of our most significant concerns has been addressed by the fact that the new BRZ comes equipped with a naturally aspirated flat-four engine that produces 228 horsepower. With a lower center of gravity and a lighter curb weight, this assertively styled 2+2 hatchback is designed to give the “seat-of-your-pants” experience that is typical of all great sports cars. This is made possible by the car’s aggressive exterior styling. The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a popular low-cost sports car, but the 2022 Subaru BRZ leapfrogs it thanks to its newly redesigned interior that incorporates cutting-edge technology without sacrificing the practicality of its forerunner.
