The classic 5.0-liter V-8 has a maximum towing capability of 13,000 pounds; the diesel V-6 has a towing capacity of 12,100 pounds, and the hybrid variant has a towing capacity of 12,700 pounds. Overview

A 290-hp 3.3-liter V-6; a 400-hp 5.0-liter V-8; a 325-hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6; a 400-hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6; and a 250-hp 3.0-liter diesel V-6 are among the engines available for the 2022 F-150. The F-150 comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission no matter which engine you pick. The F-150 is now available with a hybrid drivetrain for the first time. Ford claims that the new 400-horsepower hybrid powertrain, which includes a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, a 35-kW electric motor, and a 10-speed automatic gearbox, can provide up to 700 miles of driving range per tank and can also power an onboard generator to keep electricity flowing at construction sites or during power outages.

Drivers of different shapes and sizes may find a comfortable fit thanks to a variety of seat, steering wheel, and pedal modifications. Large windows and a scalloped area in the front door that clears a view beyond the side mirrors help to provide enough external visibility. The optional surround-view camera system also gives 360-degree coverage.

The optional 12-inch touchscreen in the middle and the digital gauge cluster are both appealing and simple to operate. Smartphone connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is included. Pro Power Onboard, an option that effectively converts the F-150 into a generator, is the most astounding feature. This feature adds power outlets in the bed that revolutionize the tailgate party/camping/construction/off-the-grid experience.

According to the EPA, the turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 in the 2022 F-150 will get up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 on the interstate. The twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine is rated at 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the interstate. The hybrid variant is rated at 25 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The Tremor variant with the twin-turbo 3.5-liter engine returned 19 mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, which is part of our thorough testing procedure.
