However, if you put a child safety seat in the second row, access to the third row would be restricted.
The official EPA estimate is 14 mpg combined (13 city/17 highway), which falls short in a class not recognized for being fuel-efficient. We averaged 13.2 mpg across 645 miles of city, interstate, and off-road driving, thanks to the thirsty V8, with tank averages varying from 10 to 17 mpg.
The appearance isn’t very interesting, but the Land Cruiser is Toyota’s premium SUV, and the materials and workmanship all underscore that position. Even on the toughest road, none of the body panels or suspension parts will make a noise. However, for a comparable price, you can acquire alternative SUVs with considerably more modern entertainment systems and fewer off-road trade-offs, such as larger luggage compartments and a lower step-in height.
Toyota’s warranty isn’t particularly noteworthy in its class, but the brand’s after-sales assistance includes free regular maintenance for two years. And, despite its hefty MSRP, when you consider Toyota’s historically strong retained value, you may come out ahead after three or four years of ownership.
