Chevrolet Trailblazer 2022, The Chevrolet Trailblazer range receives just minor updates for the 2022 model year. The heated steering wheel is now included as standard equipment on the ACTIV and RS trim levels, while it is an an option on the LT. Roof rack cross rails and a trailering system that consists of a trailer hitch, harness, and bezel are 2 of the new options that may be fitted by the dealership. There are currently a variety of colours of metallic paint available, including Crimson, Vivid Orange, Blue Glow and Mahogany Red.
Overview
Transmission and the Engine | Trailblazer is offered with a 1.2liter and 1.3liter turbo charged 3 cylinder engine as standard equipment. The first one generates 137 hp, while the second one generates 155 hp. The 1.2liter engine is only available with frontwheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), but the 1.3liter engine offers an option for 4 wheel drive.
The conventional continuously variable gearbox (CVT) is replaced with a 9 speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly when 4 wheel drive is selected as the drivetrain configuration. The acceleration of a 1.3liter 4 wheel drive Trailblazer failed to impress on our test track, coming in at a sluggish 9.4 seconds to reach 60 mph.
Technology | Trailblazer does not have a built in navigation system as standard equipment. That being said, you’ll have little choice but to depend on the programs that are pre installed on your smartphone. Apple Car Play and Android Auto both have built in wireless connection as a standard feature, both of these systems integrate well with Trailblazer gorgeous touchscreen display.
Our test vehicle was equipped with the Technology package, which resulted in the addition of a Bose 7 speaker audio system and a larger touchscreen measuring 8 inches rather than the conventional 7 inches. Passengers in the front seats are provided with both USB A and USB C connections as standard, while passengers in the back seats have the option of receiving USB C ports. The voice instructions are straight forward, but it would be helpful if the technology could comprehend more free flowing speech.
Storage | The inside is not quite as showy as the outside, but it is big, efficient, and comes with a large number of extras that make life more convenient in the higher models. It has a raised driving posture, similar to that of an SUV, and the rear seat can easily accommodate 2 full grown people without feeling cramped. Even though the bulk of the inside is constructed out of black plastic, everything has a pleasant texture to avoid giving the impression that it is inexpensive. In order to provide higherlevel models a more upscale and luxurious look, colored trim pieces and chrome ornaments are added to the models. The Chevy comes with more than just rear seats that fold down flat.
Safety | Standard features include the identification of pedestrians and the use of autonomous emergency braking, as well as lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist.
Fuel Economy | The model of the Trailblazer with front wheel drive and a larger 1.3liter 3 cylinder engine achieves 29 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, as stated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These numbers reduce to 26 and 30, respectively, when you upgrade to an 4 wheel drive system. We traveled 200 miles on the highway in a model with 4 wheel drive and averaged 31 miles per gallon in fuel economy.
It is highly recommended that you go for the Trailblazer LT, which has a starting price of about under $25,000. The base model is equipped with a 3 cylinder engine, which is much less powerful. On the other hand, we would spend an additional $2,000 to upgrade to the 1.3liter engine and add 4 wheel drive, which comes with a 9 speed automatic gearbox.
Both of these features are included in the package. The previously stated driver assistance, a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a rear center armrest are just some of the tempting luxuries that may be added to a vehicle by selecting the option for the Adaptive Cruise Control. In addition to that, the Convenience package and either the Confidence II or Driver Confidence package are necessities for it to work properly. The latter option comes standard with a blind spot monitor, a rear cross traffic warning, and rear parking sensors.
