New features in Bronco 2022
With the completion of its first model year, the 2022 Bronco portfolio expands with the inclusion of the Everglades model, which builds on the off-road-focused Sasquatch package. The Everglades adds a snorkel air intake, a Warn winch that can pull up to 10,000 pounds, and 17-inch rims on 35-inch tires, in addition to striking visual clues–including a distinctive Desert Sand paint color. Ford now offers a $2505 Hoss 3.0 kit for the Wildtrak, which includes upgraded Fox adaptive dampers and other chassis improvements. The standard two-door Bronco costs just over $32,000, but upgrading to higher trims rapidly adds up.
Overview
The Bronco does not have an eight-cylinder engine. Instead, a basic 300-hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine or a 330-hp twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 engine are available. Both gas engines can use a 10-speed automatic transmission, but only the smaller one can use a seven-speed manual.
The four-cylinder Bronco with automatic gearbox is the most fuel-efficient, with city and highway ratings of 20 and 22 mpg, respectively. When you upgrade to the V-6 model with the Sasquatch package, which adds aggressive, larger tires, the fuel efficiency drops to 17 mpg in both the city and on the highway.
The Bronco, which comes with two or four doors, soft or hardtops, and detachable body panels, offers the same open-air options that make the Wrangler so appealing to outdoor enthusiasts.
Exterior cameras and adaptive cruise control are included. Furthermore, the Bronco is equipped with a variety of beneficial off-road driving aids that may be managed individually by experienced drivers or automatically deployed by the vehicle through several drive modes for beginners.
The Bronco can tow up to 3,500 pounds with an optional trailer hitch that features four and seven-pin connections. A trailer brake controller is not included, but can be purchased separately. Flat-towing is possible with all Broncos.
Automatic high-beams and parking sensors are among the driver-assistance features offered on the Bronco. It also features equipment that makes trail driving and low-speed rock crawling simpler.
