The 2022 Subaru Impreza is an adequate small vehicle that does not impress with its performance, but it is reasonably priced, and it comes standard with all-wheel drive. The Subaru Impreza is the company's smallest car, and it is available with a choice between a standard manual transmission and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The flat-four engine in the Impreza has a lethargic acceleration regardless of the transmission, but the stick shift is inaccurate and is not a method that we recommend. Both the sedan and the hatchback have a functional cabin and an easy-to-use entertainment system, and even the cheapest model comes with a variety of driver assistance features, albeit only when equipped with the CVT. Our Impreza Sport sedan’s five-speed manual gearbox was less sluggish than our long-term Sport hatch’s CVT, but due to the manual’s notchy and imprecise character, we really prefer the automatic. The Impreza has a near-perfect ride and handling balance. In turns, the tiny car’s body does not lean, and the rapid steering adds to its vigor. When we were in a position that required us to use emergency brakes, we discovered that the Impreza Sport had an exceptionally hard brake pedal and a short stopping distance compared to other vehicles in its class.

The inside of the Impreza may not have a lot of flair, but it certainly has great design. This automobile is a delight to handle because to its straightforward gauges and controls, as well as its user-friendly temperature control system. How pleasant is the ride inside the Impreza?

It is agreeable and comfy, without having the sensation of being too soft or floating. There is no noise from the wind, but the constantly variable automatic gearbox does produce an annoying whine. Even though they are on the firmer side, the seats are comfy and have good bolstering, making them an excellent choice for extended car rides. The seats in the back are flat, but they’re still comfy.

The optional automated climate control system is simple to use, although the vents are not in the most efficient locations. Unfortunately, a number of the primary air vents are located directly close to the steering wheel, just where you would grasp, so they will chill your fingers faster than they will cool the interior.
