The September 14 debut of the 2024 Ford Mustang will keep the pony-car spirit alive

The September 14 debut of the 2024 Ford Mustang will keep the pony-car spirit alive

2024 Ford Mustang, Ford won’t rush to develop the S650 model since there is already an electric Mustang on the market. Be sure to consider the following before it appears this autumn. Here are some predictions about the next Ford Mustang of the next generation. The S650 generation that will come after is anticipated to keep the present engines but might perhaps provide a hybrid model. As shown in our example, the exterior will probably not change much, but the inside most certainly will.

According to Ford CEO Jim Farley, the most current Ford Mustang, code-named S650, will make its public appearance on September 14. Sales should begin for the 2024 model year. Ford will present a manual gearbox at the Detroit car show and is promoting its availability.

Sadly, the days of brightly colored automobiles on Woodward Avenue like Grabber Green Mustangs, Burnt Orange Camaros, and Plum Crazy Challengers are long gone. They’re not quite finished, however. A 2024 Mustang that has been modified can be heard rumbling from Dearborn as the Chevrolet and Dodge camps begin to slow down. Ford has since confirmed that the 60th anniversary Mustang will make its first public appearance on September 14 at the 2022 Detroit auto show, contrary to our initial speculation that it might make its debut on April 17, 2023, the day the original Mustang made its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. Ford has since refuted our initial speculation.

We don’t anticipate the external design to change much from how it now looks, based on the camouflaged mules we’ve seen wandering the streets of southeast Michigan. The cockpit would be significantly improved with a driver-focused infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster that wraps around it, and additional buttons for basic operations.

It is well knowledge that the S550 chassis of the modern Mustang performs worse than the Alpha platform of the Camaro. The S650, a seventh-generation Ford vehicle currently under development, attempts to change that. If a hybrid version competes, don’t be shocked since the 2.3-liter inline-four turbocharged engine should produce around 320 horsepower. We’ll be thrilled if hybrids take the place of the 450+ horsepower V-8s. We’ll be overjoyed if the thrilling 760-hp supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 from the GT500 is retained. Both a six-speed manual gearbox and a ten-speed automatic must be reinstated.

The new S650 should have an eight-year life cycle, similar to the current-generation Mustang, with annual performance enhancements. However, considering that 2026 will come stricter corporate average mpg limits, those quicker horses may appear shortly.

Ford and Multimatic Motorsports will construct a Mustang GT3 racing vehicle, which will make its debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2024. However, it will be a few months before further information is available. Could it lead to a road-legal Mustang GT3? Observe this place.
